Our
Mission
A tradition of respect and caring
What accounts for the unique character of Kendal at Hanover? In
part, it is our affiliation with The Kendal Corporation of Kennett
Square, Pennsylvania, a not-for-profit organization and leader
in the Continuing Care Retirement Community industry, with 29
years of experience in the development and operation of CCRCs
and services for older persons. Like every Kendal community, Kendal
at Hanover is founded on a tradition of Quaker values and respect
for the individual, excellence in service, social responsibility,
and financial integrity. While the overwhelming majority of residents
at Kendal at Hanover are not Quakers, that tradition of genuine
respect and concern for human beings is alive and flourishing
here.
Statement of Mission
Kendal at Hanover opened its doors in July 1991 and is governed
by its own Board of Directors. While we are wholly committed to
the core values and philosophy of The Kendal Corporation (as outlined
in Kendal Corporation's published document, Value and Standards),
our mission statement (which follows) reflects our community's
particular history and individual circumstances.
Statement of
Mission: Kendal at Hanover is a not-for-profit continuing
care retirement community characterized by mutual respect, integrity
and a concern for each other's welfare that fosters the independence,
vitality, health and security of older persons and in which residents
and staff may exercise their talents in a supportive environment.
