Kendal at Hanover is underway with an exciting renovation that will prepare us for the future.  This 29,000 square foot project will include 6800 square feet of new space and the refurbishment of 23,000 existing square feet.  The project will last until the spring of 2010. 

What has become the Cadbury Community Center Project encompasses the main hub of the Kendal at Hanover community on the ground and main floors.  Some of the highlights of the project include an expanded and refurbished lobby entrance that will be warm, inviting and indicative of the Kendal spirit.  The residents will enjoy a new art studio with generous natural lighting. 

The dining services will be the largest benefactor of the renovation.  A brand new open kitchen, with state of the art cooking equipment, will allow the culinary team to prepare a wide variety of menus to meet the discerning tastes of our residents, staff and guests.  The residents will enjoy gracious dining in a new Cadbury Dining Room that will provide opportunity for private service as well as social interaction.  Additional dining space will be offered in the new solarium dining room, with French Doors and cathedral ceiling.  Our casual Café is being relocated and expanded to allow for increased flexibility and efficiency.  This new Café will provide the feel of a “front porch” with open spaces and country charm.  One can enjoy a fine meal while experiencing the beautiful natural light from the skylight, centrally located in the community center. 

The residents will also enjoy an expanded library with a new coffee bar which will offer fine coffee, espresso drinks and pastries, prepared by our own pastry chef.  This new element of the community will provide residents with the perfect place to meet for a drink before or after dinner or a quiet place to relax and enjoy a good book. 

This project has been several years in the planning with collaboration between the residents and administration.  The new facility will allow Kendal at Hanover to meet the needs of current and future residents while staying true to our values of simplicity and community.  We look forward to the ribbon cutting in May, 2010.
