Admissions
Process
Our Two-Phase Admissions Process
Although you or your spouse must be at least age 65 to
live at Kendal, we invite you to visit our community for a tour and
informational meeting at any time. We will be pleased to answer your
questions and give you an indication of the expected waiting time for one of
our residential units, or an assisted living residence. Our admission
process involves two phases, both of which must be completed to become eligible
for residency.
Phase One: Preliminary Application
If you are interested in joining our community either in
the near or distant future, we ask that you submit a Preliminary Application
accompanied by a per person $1,500 deposit, of which $500 is
non-refundable. The $1,000 is refundable if you withdraw your
application, or it will be applied to your entrance fee. This Preliminary
Application is the first step to joining our community. Once we receive
your Preliminary Application, we will keep you abreast of events and changes at
Kendal at Hanover. The Preliminary application however, remains
"inactive" until you have completed Phase Two of the admissions
process.
Phase Two: Waiting List
To join the Waiting
List, you are required to complete medical forms, financial statements,
and personal history forms. You will also need to meet with
various staff members for pre-admission interviews. To help
you experience life at Kendal and be comfortable with your choice,
we can arrange for you to enjoy a meal with residents and stay
overnight at Kendal as our guest. Completion of Phase Two
places your name(s) on the Waiting List and will begin your waiting
time for an apartment. The waiting time varies according
to apartment type.
The Admissions Department reviews
all applications. Upon acceptance, you are notified in writing
and your name(s) moves to our Waiting List. Once you are
on the Waiting List, your name is advanced each time a unit of
your choice becomes available.
