Kendal at Hanover offers a wide array of activities for residents to participate in, whether on campus or off.  Scheduled activities such as aerobics, water aerobics, Tai Chi, and folk dancing, are some of the activities available for residents free of charge.  Other amenities include three dining rooms, a health clinic, beauty parlor, a bank, gift shop, hobby workshops, meeting rooms, exercise room and large heated lap pool.

Our resident run Library houses over 7,000 volumes, many of which were acquired from residents.  Daily newspapers, periodicals, fiction and nonfiction items can be found in the library.  Residents also have access to the Hanover town library for any books that might not be available at Kendal.

It is almost guaranteed, with Kendal's over 100 groups and committees, residents can find an activity to become involved in.  Residents are also encouraged to start a group or committee, of a particular interest, if one does not exist presently.

In communities such as Hanover, being so close to Dartmouth, residents are able to lead stimulating active lives largely based on taking advantage of opportunities on campus, from auditing classes and lectures to attending concerts and sporting events.  At Dartmouth, such options extend outdoors and include skiing at the college-owned downhill area or on an extensive network of cross-country trails, as well as participating in organized hikes, nature walks, and canoe trips.  One of Kendal's top assets is the Institute or Lifelong Education at Dartmouth (ILEAD).  Staffed by volunteers, the institute offers about 30 adult-education courses on a wide range of subjects each semester as well as a summer lecture series.  The institute's classes are held at Dartmouth and in venues around Hanover, including Kendal.  Nearly 40 percent of Kendal community residents are enrolled in the institute.

Covered in residents entry & monthly fees are use of the residence with all utilities, housekeeping & linen service, one meal a day plan with option to add more.  Kendal is responsible for maintenance of all buildings and grounds, including trash and snow removal.  Residents will also take advantage of a lifetime health care program with 24-hour emergency call system, and comprehensive package of health care services.
