Our Community

Kendal at Hanover is an accredited, not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), offering comprehensive long-term care services, which support someone throughout their lifetime.  These services encompasses three levels of care — Residential Living, and Assisted Living, including Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing.

Founded by The Kendal Corporation, with collaboration by the local chapter of Quakers, Kendal at Hanover was thoughtfully positioned close to a university, in order to support one of Kendal’s deep-rooted values; “To Promote an Environment of Continuing Learning,”  Nearby is the cultural and diverse town of Hanover, home to the nationally-recognized Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

Kendal at Hanover is part of the Kendal System, which is supported by The Kendal Corporation in Pennsylvania.  The Kendal Corporation, formed in the early 1970s, has gained experience in the successful development and operation of services and communities for older people.  Kendal pioneered continuing care with many intuitive programs, such as Untie the Elderly and Vitalize 360.  Based on Quaker principles and beliefs, the foundation for all Kendal communities is one of mutual respect and caring for all individuals.

While operating as part of the Kendal System, Kendal at Hanover operates as an independent life plan community, with its own Board of Directors and Executive Director/CEO.  One enormous benefit, which distinguishes Kendal at Hanover from many other CCRC’s, is our on-site Dartmouth-Hitchcock Clinic.  This on-site clinic offers seamless continuity of care for our residents.

Kendal at Hanover is home to 400 residents and employs approximately 300 staff at its picturesque 64-acre campus in Hanover, New Hampshire. Kendal is known as one of the region’s leading employers, with an outstanding work environment, career enhancement benefit,s and an award-winning Children’s Center.
